One of the ways we keep our prices low is by not performing surgeries in-house. In the rare instance that your pet needs surgery, we have nearby partner practices where we can quickly schedule your procedure. By not offering surgeries, we don’t need as much equipment – which means we can pass those savings on to you. In addition, we price check every local veterinary practice to make sure we’re offering you the best rates.
At our Overland Park veterinary clinic, your pet’s health is our top priority. It is important to remember that the battle against fleas, ticks, and heartworms is a year-round commitment, especially here in Kansas. Unlike areas with colder climates, our state doesn’t experience winters that are constantly below 46°F, creating an ideal environment for these parasites to come out whenever the conditions are right.
Fleas can lay up to 50 eggs daily, and their lifecycle from egg to adult can be as short as 3 weeks. Ticks grow from eggs in 9-60 days and wait in grasses and bushes for their chance to latch onto your pet. Heartworms are transmitted through mosquito bites and move from pet to pet, where the heartworms can live for years, spreading throughout an unprotected community. These pests make preventive care not just a recommendation but a necessity.
